About Ultrawest Research

Somewhere along the line, author, journalist, PR practitioner and librarian Ed Sadowski found a new passion (and obsession): beating the stock market.

In 2008, when investors were devastated and traumatized with huge losses to their accounts, Ed turned $100,000 into a quarter of a million dollars. And he did this with a mutual fund IRA account.

It's been a long journey of losses and victories, rocky lessons that he's learned, unwilling to give up on his quest. He's had impressive success with index funds, stock options and even forex.

The result has been a rules-based, mechanical trading system based on technical indicators, which he calls the Sadowski Trend Analysis Timing System (STATS).

Ed has a background in journalism, public relations, freelance writing, publishing, website creation and design, and librarianship. He has an MA in Librarianship and Information Management from the University of Denver and a BA in English from the University of Colorado. He has published scholarly papers as well as news and feature articles, and is the author of a book about the Internet, document management, legal research, and Forex trading. He is also a published poet and had a play selected by the Changing Scene Theatre, Denver.

Ed was a news editor for weekly newspapers in eastern Colorado. He has also written for Denver suburban weekly newspapers, The Denver Post, National Enquirer, Westword, Denver Magazine, and other publications. He was the staff photographer for the Denver Catholic Register. He was a news intern for Colorado Public Radio. He has also worked for public relations firms in Denver. Ed has also conducted consumer market surveys and political polls, including for the Gallup Poll in London, England.

As a librarian in the Denver area, Ed has coordinated library events and handled publicity, social media, and newsletters. He has taught information literacy research classes and how to use the Internet. He founded and coordinated the Littleton Internet Users Group.

Ed has a creative and inquiring mind on multiple topics and issues, and is unable to stop himself from exploring and writing about them. His diverse pursuits and interests include being an ETF trader, sports buff, and unlocking the holographic universe.

He was born in England and from the age of ten has lived in Colorado, qualifying as a “semi-native.” He shares a house with a screechy, squawky conure parrot in old Englewood, Colorado.
